Job well done!
AWESOME app! I have a 4 yr old son who does not speak well and has cognitive disabilities. I have downloaded some special education apps for him but this one kept his interest right from the start! So much so, we were almost late for school!! Job well done!
Effective Language Development Tool
This app is an effective tool for language development in autistic patients. The spoken words, visual aids including video, and recording/playback function makes for a great combination. Excited about additional upcoming modules.
fun app to use!
My students using this app really love watching the videos of actual people. I am impressed with how it engages my students and holds their attention. I appreciate having the ability to mute the audio and of course the students love having the chance to hear themselves speak. It is easy to navigate through modules.
Not Enough Content to Justify Price
I will give this app three stars as I do think it has potential. In the present form, however, the limited content does not justify the price. The app uses short video clips with a voice-over to demonstrate personal pronouns. For some reason, however, it does not demonstate all of them but only "he", "she" and "they." For anyone who has experience working with individuals on the spectrum, it should jump out that the absence of of "I", "you", "we" and "it" is a glaring omission. True, it may be more difficult to just use simple video clips to teach those pronouns, but thats the sort of feature that makes an app truly worth the investment of $39.99. I contacted the developer to inquire about an update including the rest of the personal pronouns. She informed me that the subsequent apps that she is developing address different topics and will be priced separately. When one compares this app to those created by developers like Mobile Education Tools (Conversation Builder, Question Builder etc.) it becomes very clear that the simply substituting video for still pictures does not justify the considerable difference in price. While there not be a lot of personal pronoun apps on the market right now, I think its worth waiting for one that has more content or at least wont have you spending a great deal to get comparably little.
Making life easier
Wow! As a speech pathologist, I love this app! Does everything it says and more. I also use it for answering wh questions, possessive pronouns (her, his, theirs), and past tense verbs too (after the video stops playing). Not sure what the last reviewer meant about including "me, I, we" pronouns. To work on those pronouns, you would need pictures of all the kids using the app. Not possible. Well worth the price in my opinion!
